• On that same note, Teen Vogue wrote up URAHARA. I’m reviewing it for ANN and it’s visually stunning but not as interesting a story as I’d hoped.
• Anime Industry Income Hits 2.9 Trillion Yen Milestone. AKA $25.5 billion. On Monday, I watched A Silent Voice in an American theater full of fans and I just could not believe how big this thing has gotten and how popular anime has become.
• My Life as a Late-’90s Otaku: How Being an Anime Fan in America Used to Be Very, Very Different. I was surprised to read this piece and recall a lot of the stuff she’s talking about. Then I realized this author is only a year older than me! I need to lie down.
• Remember when I subtly mentioned I had an acting gig? It was for this: Pieces—A Thousand Albums At The End Of America. It’s a sci-fi story told through music about the apocalypse and the brainchild of my friend DJ Spruke. On Wednesday, Spruke interviewed me about my writing process for my contribution to the story.
