I was impressed by that advice column – reasoned, evenhanded, not condescending, and respectful of the girl. Nice to see.
And while it’s pretty inexcusable that it’s taken this long and required such high-profile blowups like the ones that have happened of late, it’s also good to see that some companies are at least trying to do *something* about harassment. It’s going to take a long time to deal with because it’s been accepted as a fact and allowed to become a part of many online communities’ cultures, but you gotta start somewhere.
